The LED Model is not lighting up or connecting

This article offers troubleshooting guidance for LED models experiencing issues with lighting or connectivity.

If your LED model isn't lighting up or connecting, the issue typically stems from a power problem, a controller connection error, or a pairing issue with the DisplaySweet app. Here's a comprehensive troubleshooting guide:

Common Causes

  • Power Issue: The LED model may not be powered on, or the adapter could be faulty.
  • Network Mismatch: The iPad and the LED controller might be connected to different Wi-Fi networks.
  • App Pairing Issue: The device might need to be re-paired within the DisplaySweet app.
  • Hardware Fault: If there are no indicator lights on the controller or LED model, the unit may require servicing.

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. Check Power & Hardware
    • Power Supply: Verify that the LED model is plugged in and switched on at the wall outlet or power pack.
    • Cables: Ensure all cables connecting the LED model to the controller PC are securely attached.
    • Indicators: Look for power lights on the LED controller PC. Absence of lights suggests a power supply issue to the hardware.
  2. LED Controller PC Check
    • Restart the LED Controller PC:
      • The PC is usually located under the model table.
      • Unplug the power for 30 seconds, then reconnect it to restart.
      • Confirm that HDMI, USB-C, and network cables are in their correct ports.
    • Dedicated Controller App: If your LED model uses a dedicated controller app, make sure it is running and properly linked to the DisplaySweet app.
  3. On the iPad / DisplaySweet App
    • Network Connection: Ensure the iPad is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as the LED controller PC.
    • App Pairing: In the DisplaySweet app, navigate to Settings → Connect and check if the LED model appears.
    • Reconnect Attempt: If the LED model appears but won't connect, restart both the iPad and the controller, then try connecting again.
  4. Reset & Resync
    • Restart & Reopen: Restart your iPad and reopen the DisplaySweet app.
    • Log Out/In: If the issue persists, log out of the DisplaySweet app and then log back in to refresh property synchronization.
    • Reinstall App: Sometimes, reinstalling the DisplaySweet app can resolve pairing problems.
